Shura Council Approves Formation of Qatari Friendship Groups with Parliaments of Brotherly and Friendly Countries

The Shura Council held its regular weekly meeting today under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Speaker of the Shura Council.

At the outset of the meeting the Council discussed a draft law on documentation. The draft law contains (37) articles.  Article No (1) of the draft law defines documentation as a procedure by a notary public or by those delegated by the Minister of Justice, by which the will of the concerned parties is documented in an official record. 

The draft law specifies the way of documentation of official records, the way of ratification of the signatures and recording of the dates. As well the draft law provides general rules on cases wherein the agency ends, and on copying, electronic procedures, organizing and maintaining records, documents and on indexes relating to documentation.

After the due discussions, the Council referred the draft law to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee for further study and to submit a report thereon to the Council.

The Shura Council approved forming parliamentary friendship groups with parliaments of sisterly and friendly States, in order to strengthening and enhancing joint cooperation relations between the Council and the parliaments in the sisterly and friendly States in different areas of parliamentary work and to exchange views on bilateral relations, regional and international issues of common interest.
Parliamentary friendship groups approved by the Council include the Qatari- Arab friendship group, the Qatari - Asian friendship group, the Qatari -African friendship group, the Qatari - European friendship group, the Qatari- United States, Canada and Australia and New Zealand friendship group, and the Qatari - Latin America and the Caribbean countries friendship group.
 
At the close of the meeting H.E. Mr. Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud, the Speaker of the Shura Council briefed the Council on his meeting last Wednesday with Honourable Dr. José Paul Torres Cresimir, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Paraguay and his accompanying delegation, during which both parties discussed the bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them in various fields, especially in the legislative and legal areas.
