Advisory Council Speaker Meets Canadian Parliamentary Delegation

HE Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud met with a Canadian parliamentary delegation, currently visiting the country. The delegation is led by HE Member of the Canadian House of Commons' Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

The meeting discussed the parliamentary relations between the State of Qatar and Canada as well as ways to boost and develop them.

During the meeting, they also discussed the unjust siege imposed on Qatar, where HE the Advisory Council Speaker explained how the siege violates the international law and principles of good neighboring. His Excellency also explained that the resulting tensions in the region are unjustified, because of the vague arguments and false accusations.

The Canadian delegation confirmed its rejection of the siege and its full understanding of the State of Qatar's stance and called for dialogue to resolve the conflicts. The delegation also urged the immediate lifting of the siege and stressed its keenness to convey a true picture of it negative effects, to the Canadian Parliament.
