Shura Council Participates in a Round Table on Combating Violence Against Women

The Shura Council participated in a round-table dialogue organized by the Coalition of Women MPs from Arab Countries to Combat Violence against Women, in cooperation with Westminster Foundation for Democracy, via video conference technology.
The Shura Council was represented in the event by HE member of the Council Shaikha bint Yousuf Al-Jufairi, as well as women parliamentarians and activists in the field of combating violence against women.
During the event, they discussed the challenges facing women in assuming electoral positions in the Arab region, the lessons that can be learned from countries where the rates of women's political participation are high, and the obstacles that still exist, and the speakers expressed their views on these topics, and how to overcome the obstacles facing women's political participation.
