Speaker of Shura Council Meets Several Participants in Meeting of Parliamentary Assemblies to Combat Terrorism

 HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanem met with a number of officials and parliamentarians on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the first coordination meeting of the parliamentary assemblies to combat terrorism.


The meeting is being organized by the United Nations Office on Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), in coordination with the Shura Council, within the activities of UNCTO's Program Office on Parliamentary Engagement in Preventing and Countering Terrorism, based in Doha.


HE Speaker of the Shura Council met with HE Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Djibouti and President of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union Mohamed Ali Houmed, and HE Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Sergio Piazzi.
His Excellency also met with HE Deputy to the Director of UNOCT Mauro Miedico.


During the meetings, which were held separately, participants reviewed relations of cooperation in the parliamentary and counter-terrorism fields between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Djibouti, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, and the UNOCT, as well as ways to enhance them. They also discussed the topics of high importance on the meeting's agenda.


A number of the Shura Council's members attended the Meetings.
