Activities of IPU 130th Anniversary Kick Off

The activities of the 130th anniversary of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) kicked off Tuesday on the sidelines of the 141st General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and its accompanying meetings, with the participation of HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and his accompanying delegation.
In her opening remarks, HE President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gabriela Cuevas referred to the activities organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to celebrate its 130th anniversary, including the five-way meeting in which the State of Qatar participated with an official delegation headed by HE the Speaker of the Shura Council on June 30 at the IPU headquarters in Geneva.
For his part, HE Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong spoke about the various initiatives taken by some members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to celebrate the anniversary.
The President of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko also presented the report of the five-way meeting.
On this occasion, the Serbian Parliament presented the exhibition of the anniversary of the IPU (1889-2019) on the occasion of the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the IPU.
