Shura Council participates in global anti-corruption conference

The Shura Council is participating in the Ninth Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, hosted by Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, until December17.

The Council was represented in the parallel activities of the conference, by HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, HE Nasser bin Mutref al-Humaidi, and HE Salem bin Rashid al-Muraikhi, members of the Shura Council. The conference will discuss the experiences of the countries party to the agreement in the field of preventing and countering corruption, while parallel events will review the contribution of parliaments in various countries of the world to the file of countering corruption.

It is noteworthy that the increasing contribution of parliamentarians against corruption and crime has led the United Nations Off ice on Drugs and Crime to adopt mechanisms that contribute to strengthening the role of parliamentarians in countering corruption at the international level.
