Shura Council Speaker Arrives in Rabat

HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed Bin Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud arrived in Rabat today to preside over the delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World. The conference focuses on the experiences of national reconciliation which led to political stability, social peace and peace-building, and is scheduled to be held from January 17 to 18.

His Excellency was greeted upon arrival at Rabat International Airport by HE Vice President of the House of Councilors of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdelkader Salama, and HE Acting Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Morocco Khalid bin Mohammed Al Dosari.

The conference will discuss a series of successful experiences of a number of countries that have experienced political and social crises and ethnic conflicts before engaging in national reconciliation, with each experiment producing different outcome.

The conference will be attended by prominent national and international human rights figures in the field of reconciliation and transitional justice and heads of national and regional parliaments in the Arab world, Africa and Latin America.
