Shura Council Discusses a Draft Law on Workers’ Wages

The Shura Council held its regular weekly meeting today, under the chairmanship of H. E. Mr.  Mohammed bin Abdulla al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council.

At the beginning of the session, the Council discussed the report of its Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee on a draft law on setting minimum wages for labors and domestic workers.

The session witnessed extensive discussions on the draft law in the light of the report of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee.

After further elaborated discussions, the Council decided to subject the draft law to further consideration and debate at an upcoming session.

At the end of its session, the Shura Council discussed the proposal by desire submitted by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hanzab, member of the Council on promoting values, principles and ethics in the society.

After the discussion, the Council referred the proposal by desire to its Cultural Affairs and Information Committee for consideration and submit a report thereon to the Council.
