The Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World concluded Saturday in Rabat its conference, with HE Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud participating as the head of the State of Qatar's delegation to the conference.

The participants expressed their satisfaction regarding the implementation of the association's programme, adopted in Morocco back in September 20-21 of 2017. They also expressed satisfaction with the association's success of extending cooperation ties with regional and international parliamentary bodies.

The communique also welcomed the requests of Libya, Kenya, and Cote d'Ivoire to join the association, and encouraged the general secretariat of the association to continue with its efforts of inviting more Arab and African countries to join. The participants unanimously agreed that the Kingdom of Morocco should chair the parliamentary network for security and nutrition in Africa and the Arab world, and adopted the founding charter of the network.

HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and the accompanying delegation had left the Moroccan capital earlier, after presiding over the State of Qatar's delegation participating in the conference of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World.
