Information and Cultural Affairs Committee of the Shura Council Discusses Qataris’ Reluctance to Practice Education

The Information and Cultural Affairs Committee of the Shura Council held a meeting today, under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Khalid bin Ahmed Al-Obaidan, Chairman of the Committee.

During the meeting, the Committee discussed the topic of “Qataris’ Reluctance to Practice Education”, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ms. Maha Al-Ruwaili, Assostant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, and Ms. Eman Salman Almuhanidi, head of the Training and Educational Development Center in the Ministry of Education. The Officials responded to the Committee's queries about a number of topics relating to the subject in the light of the Committee's findings and the views of a number of former teachers hosted by the Committee at previous meetings.

During their discussions at the meeting, the two sides also agreed on the importance of overcoming the obstacles faced by Qatari teachers, identifying the main challenges facing them, finding solutions to overcome them, promoting their desirability in this profession and providing incentives and privileges that contribute to this.

At the end of the meeting, the Committee decided to complete its study of the topic at its next meeting, in the light of discussions and answers to its queries by Ministry officials.
