Shura Council's Internal and External Affairs, Internal Regulations Committees Hold Meetings

The Internal and External Committee of the Shura Council held on Monday a meeting with the presidency of HE Chairperson of the Committee Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri.


During the meeting, the committee discussed a draft law on regulating the ownership of real estate in the country by diplomatic and consular missions.

 

The committee decided to submit its report regarding the draft law to the Shura Council.


The Shura Council's Committee concerned with Internal Regulations held on Monday a meeting with the presidency of HE Chairperson of the Committee Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri.
During the meeting, the committee continued discussing the chapters of the internal regulations, emphasizing their complementarity and comprehensiveness, based on their importance in adequately framing and conducting the work of the council in accordance with what has been stated in the permanent constitutions of the State of Qatar.


Article 32 of Law no. 7 of 2021 regarding the Shura Council stipulates that the Shura Council's internal regulations issued by Law no. 6 of 1979 referred to shall apply to the elected Shura Council, until its internal regulations are issued and enforced - in a manner that does not conflict with the provisions of the Constitution, this law, and the nature and powers of the elected council. Article 97 of the Constitution states that the Shura Council shall make regulations governing its internal order and conduct of business, the work of committees, the organization of sessions, procedural and voting rules and all functions stipulated in this Constitution. The regulations shall determine disciplinary penalties for any members violating orders, or failing to attend sessions of the Council or committees without acceptable reason; and the aforementioned regulations shall be issued by law.
