The Shura Council Participates in Meeting of the Economic and Environment Committee of Union of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)

The Shura Council participated in the ninth meeting of the Specialized Standing Committee for Economic and Environmental Affairs of the Parliamentary Union of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held on the sideline of the work of the 17th session of the Union Conference in Algeria.
The Shura Council was represented at the meeting by HE Mr. Omair bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Member of the Shura Council
During the meeting, they discussed several issues related to the economic affairs of the member countries of the Union, including increasing trade exchange and reducing customs barriers among the OIC member states, as well as activating and supporting economic institutions active in the field of development in the Islamic world.
During the meeting, they also discussed environmental issues and sustainable development, ways to combat desertification, especially in the African Sahel countries, cooperation in the field of preserving water resources in member states, and strengthening cooperation in the field of environmental protection and combating climate change.
