Shura Council Participates in Opening Session of Conference of Union of Councils of OIC Member States

The Shura Council participated in the opening meeting of the 17th session of the Conference of Union of Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, held in Algiers under the title "The Islamic World and the Challenges of Modernization and Development." HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti headed the Council's delegation to the conference.

Furthermore, HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti participated in the 24th session of the General Committee of the Union of Councils of OIC member states, during which members of the bureau were elected; Secretary-General's report was presented and financial statements of the Financial Control Committee and the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023 were approved, in addition to discussing a number of organizational issues and topics of interest to the Islamic world.

During the meeting, HE Dr. Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti extended thanks the Union's General Committee for its praise for the State of Qatar's organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Her Excellency also met with HE President of the Algerian National People's Assembly Ibrahim Boughali. During the meeting they discussed the existing cooperation relations between the two sides, and ways to enhance them, in addition to reviewing a number of topics on the agenda of the session.

Their Excellences members of the Shura Council Mubarak bin Mohamed Al Kuwari, Abdullah bin Jaber Al Libdeh and Umair bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi along with HE Qatar's Ambassador to Algeria attended the meeting.
