Shura Council Participates in Parliamentary Session on Effective Development Cooperation

The Shura Council on Tuesday took part in a virtual parliamentary session entitled "The Power of Parliamentarians: Opportunities and Challenges for Effective Development Cooperation", co-organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC).
Discussions during the webinar focused on providing parliamentarians with an understanding of what development cooperation is and how it works, as well as ideas on how parliaments can promote more effective and accountable use of resources. It also provided an opportunity for parliamentarians to discuss the challenges and opportunities they face in fully exercising their legislative, budgetary and oversight functions.
The Shura Council was represented at the session by HE Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, member of the Council.
