The Shura Council State of Qatar

The Advisory Council held its weekly meeting as part of its 46th ordinary session under the chairmanship of HE Advisory Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud.
At the outset of the meeting, the council discussed the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the 46th ordinary session on Tuesday, stressing that it was a sincere and precise representation of the ambitions of citizens, and a new momentum to continue the blessed march in the different areas of national action, realize achievements and preserve the gains, and look ahead to the future with confidence, determination and strong national will.

The council praised HH the Amir's vision in the speech at the local and foreign levels as an approach for work, motivation for achievement and helpful guide for the council in performing its duties for the nation and citizens.

In addition, the council expressed its deep pride and appreciation to the people of Qatar and its unity behind its leadership, as well as to the residents of Qatar, for how they both showed high spirit and morals as well as firm and strong will in the face of the unjust siege imposed on the country, and the campaigns of distortion, deception and slander that contradict "our faith, heritage and the superior values that we inherited from parents and grandparents" and are contrary to the most basic principles of ethics and international norms and laws.
The council said it would intensify its efforts in the near future with the parliaments of fraternal and friendly countries as well as international parliamentary unions to strengthen the ties between peoples and promote fraternal, friendship and cooperation ties between them in order to maintain security and stability in the region and the well-being of its peoples, and adopt the principle of unconditional dialogue based on mutual respect for sovereignty in settling inter-state differences.

Additionally, the Advisory Council touched on the legislative renaissance that the country will see in the coming period and the close cooperation that it requires between the council and the government in order to accelerate discussions on major laws that are currently under review by the council as well as those that will be referred to it in the future.
